Kaikoura

We're in Kaikoura now, on the east coast above Christchurch. Kaikoura is a big marine wildlife area - we're off whale watching tomorrow (and crossing our fingers Tom's seasickness was just a phase).

Yesterday we drove to see 1 of the many seal colonies. Unfortunetly the night before (friday) was our first big drinking night; we found an ace and really friendly bar called the Strawberry Tree, stayed out till 3 ish and met loads of cool folks (the last hour or so dancing round the juke boast with the remaing drunken crowd at the bar). So Saturday morning we awoke with our first phat Kiwi hangovers, and had to leave our campsite by 10... drove to the seal colony, had a quick look, slept in the back of the van for 3 hours, woke and hungry and drove off to find some food! But I'm sure we'll go back and see more seals soon.

This afternoon we've booked surfing lessons, one of the guys we met at the pub is gonna learn with us. Jos
