Made it to Nelson at the top of the South Island today. After the diving we went further north to Kaitia to stay with the wonderful Anita, Jos' second cousin. Whilst up there we took a proper tourist coach day trip up to the nothernmost point, Cape Reinga which on it's return journey drove down the sands of Ninety Mile Beach which would've been quite cool to do ourselves but didn't think the van would survive! Saw some top beaches, really isolated from civilization and then the solar powered lighthouse right on the cape. The waves in the picture to the left of the lighthouse are from the two oceans, the Pacific and the Tasman Sea colliding from opposite directions at the top of NZ. Pretty cool to watch.
