Mount Egmont

Took a couple of days to drive south from Kaitia via Auckland and Hamilton to The Mount Egmont National Park. After checking out New Plymouth we headed to a campsite just outside the park for a couple of nights. This place is owned by a family who live on the site in.. you guessed it, a bus. All powered by renewable energy, with more converted busses that could be rented out
as cabins and with an awesome organic garden, polytunnels and all. Even an on site Alaskan style saw mill for cutting their own timber! Had to check out this DIY water wheel, very impressive! The green bucket houses the generator and gear box.
Very inspiring place.
