scuba scuba!

Just completed PADI open water scuba diving course at the Poor Knights Islands just off Northland at the top of the north island. Jos decided that she was more of a snorkeller than a diver but I continued to the bottom and saw loads of awesome stuff including sting ray, eagle ray and loads of other bright things! Been staying on a camp site in Tutukawa for the past 4 days, the weather was a bit rubbish at first but it didn't matter cos we were in the class room for most of it. Day 3 was the first day out on the boat, really big swell during the trip to the dive site and as a result I was sick off the dive platform just before the first open water dive!!! All was cool once in the water though. Fourth day has been absolutely awesome, better crossing but still managed to hurl just before starting my descent. Almost clogged the regulator! Once we were down it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life- a completely different world down there!
After this we're off to see some of Jos' relatives in Northland before we head for the South Island for walking and wine tasting. This place is amazing!!!
All the best to all back home, throw a snowball for me! Tom

Great J Bond pose there Tom . Sounds like you are having a great time. Dad very envious of the diving though not the throwing up.
Interesting splayed set of toes there in the foreground ........
Look forward to the next adventures . Did you hear England have actually managed to win a cricket match at last ?
