Set off on thursday last week from a placecalled Kaiteriteri. Jos and Beck shared a double kayak whilst I had to go solo. The first day was the longest paddle to Anchorage Hut about 12 km up the coast. We had the worst weather for this stretch as well, quite choppy going round one of the head lands with wind and rain until we finally got to the hut. We were beginning to wonder whether we'd made a big mistake committing to a three day kayak with two further days walking! Second day though, weather was awesome and we enjoyed a liesurely paddle up to Bark Bay hut via seal inhabited islands and coves.
